Enshrinement Weekend in Canton, Ohio --
This week was a very unique and historic travel week for me... for the first time I FLEW into a game. Excited to be in Canton for the weekend's parties and everything the NFL Hall of Fame has to offer, I was happy to be back in Cleveland on Friday morning. Before heading into Canton Saturday, I had the opportunity to visit Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the 2nd time. It was very cool. A lot of the displays were the same, but some were very different too. I was happy to see the 12 years of the Vans Warped Tour along with Queen's stage costumes. But, I have to say, the newest attraction at the Rock Hall this year was the Johnny Cash Tour Bus. After his death, the bus was donated to the Rock Hall! We all loved Johnny, and to see his tour bus and June Carter's travel compartment was definietly cool. Johnny's area was dark wood and black leather, of course! But June's was powder blue with white laminate. It was just right for a dainty little hottie...

I just couldn't pass up taking a picture of a cool guitar featuring the best whiskey around!
Saturday morning started with a long drive into Canton from my hotel in Cleveland, but a cup of coffee and a Dunkin' Doughnut helped me forge my way down the road-- Ah, just like the RV days -- MMM Doughnuts!!!
I arrived at the NFL Hall of Fame before it oped, so I wandered to grounds. You can make out the giant banners of this year's inductees on the outside of Fawcett Stadium.
Of course I had to visit the Enshrinement Hall. Pat Murphy was right, the hairs on your arms stand on end when you cross the threshold! I spent some time looking at familiar faces and great heroes, but alas, the tears welled up as I passed in front of Bill Walsh's Bust. A truly great coach and a great guy too. You will be missed Coach
So, I wandered into the Pittsburgh Steelers 75th year exhibit and remembered good times and bad, great players and better plays, but the momento I enjoyed the most was the piece of turf where the Immaculate Reception happened. What a great story, a great play and a fantastic historical artifact.
I headed down into the Hall of Fans and ran across a good friends plaque. This one's for you Johnny!
The Hall of Fame visit ended with me sitting in the NFL Films Theatre and watching the newest Film, "The Chase for the Championship." After the movie - without popcorn, I went into the gift shop to buy stuff. When I came out, I started down a hallway towards more exhibits and I ran into Frank Gifford and Don Meredith, with Frank's son Cody too. So, I sheepishly introduced myself, and they shook my hand, gave me an autograph and let me tag along with them on their visit through the Hall of Fame. It was like having a personal escort by two people who not only knew all the stats and info, but also knew the men! What a very cool way to visit the Great Hall!!!
