SuperBowl XL revisited!
It was a much anticipated rematch for fans of the Hawks and the Steelers, and especially for these smack-talking former schoolmates who somehow wound up in-laws.
Jay was joined in Pittsburgh (for what he was hyping as XL-2) by his pal Rich, who was celebrating his 40th birthday with a first ever visit to Heinz field.
A So-Cal Steeler fan on a dream trip, we helped Rich and wife Brenda kick off the weekend with dinner out at the Bettis Grill. Located on the riverbank in the shadow of the stadium, it was understandably PACKED with Steeler fans on the night before a game.
Jay ordered one of the most bizarre sandwiches we'd ever seen on a menu -- and was he glad that he did! An Italian sub -- with salami, capacola, provolone... -- breaded in tempura batter and deep fried! It was amazingly tasty (and frighteningly unhealthy)! It's a good thing we only get to Pittsburgh once a year!
After, we headed back to our hotel, the Springhill Suites by Marriott, with great rooms and a jacked-up price that reflects that it's an easy post-tailgate walk from the stadium.

Our Great 'Gate winner, Dan Noschese, hooked us all up with an amazing tailgate and some great seats on the 50 yard line! It was the perfect way for Rich to celebrate and cheer the Steelers on to victory!
Some of us enjoyed the game more than others, but Jay took it well enough. Even when the Pittsburgh-ers covered his jersey in stickers for Iron City Beer!

It was tough not to get into the spirit in a town so in love with their team, and even Jay's Blacktop Babe pushed the limits of his love when she showed up to the game wearing a Steeler's sweatshirt!
