Pulled Pork and Philly Cheese Steaks...
I was invited to party with Mike, aka One Crazy Fan. He teamed up with Scott of Blue Monkey Catering and Butch with Smack Your Lips BBQ for the 1st Annual Open Tailgate Party. When I asked him what that meant, he said anyone who comes by is welcome to our 160 pounds of Butch's famous pulled pork. After I tasted it, I could tell why it was famous!
Mike has an old ambulance painted Eagles colors with one of the best stereo systems around. He pulles a trailer behind with an incredible golf cart - used to get around the lots a bit more quickly and all the tailgate gear you could ever want. Thanks for everything Mike. Be sure to check Mike out at OneCrazyFan.com!
Cruzin' around the lots is always a great experience. Philly has one of the best collections of Radical Rigs, Superfans and phenomenal BBQ. It couldn't have been a more perfect day to tailgate. The weather was sunny and warm and I had an invite from Butch to get in there and learn from the man who beat Bobby Flay in a Throwdown how to pull pork.
I dove right in and got to work when Butch slowed me down and explained the best part of pullin' pork is the taste test - which happens every other pull!
In the end, great food and great new friends. What a great tailgate party. Thanks Mikeand evryone who welcomed me into the lot and their city!
Final call: Brotherly love extends onto the blacktop!
I grilled up some awesome Flat Iron Steaks and Grilled Avocados. Check out the recipes right here!

Butch and his crew...

...which are mostly his family and close friends, invited me in the group to learn the basics of pulling pork, and tasting too! Thanks for sharing a memorable tailgate. See you next week at the Jack!

Photo of the Week!

When this huge group of bikes rolled into the lot, everyone turned and enjoyed the roar of the engines as well as the spectacular ambiance of a biker tailgate party. It's always fun to see people pulling food and drinks from their saddle bags!
