A new definition of spirit...
Even after a hurricane that devastated their stadium, even after the NFL had to shuffle their schedule around, and even after the Saints had to play all of their games out of town, the fans came out in force to LSU Stadium to show the country that you "gotta have faith!"
At their temporary home, the Saints fans grilled up sausage in the early morning and had gumbo and boils going all day long at LSU Stadium. The aroma around the Blacktop set our mouths a waterin' and our stomaches a growlin'. When it came time for the taste-off, a crowd had gathered to find out who was going to be named Blacktop's Best.
As our judges waded through the troughs of Gumbo and Boils, the crowd kept the FAITH going by soulfully cheering for their favorite. (And by soulful cheering, I mean heckling the other entries.) All is fair at a taste-off! After all, it is for the title of Blacktop's Best.
As game time drew near and the tailgate ended, Werner and his gumbo took home the title and the Grill from Camp Chef.
